29 August 2013, Thursday

Today, the medical team that i joined besides the opening/closing ceremony had a very important and educational meeting with the 2 nurses from the clinic. This is a very important meeting because this is when we learn all safety actions that needs to be understood if ever anything happens during the Binus Cup competition. I learned many different cases that relates to the medical; bleeding, headache, stomach problems, allergies, broken bones, fainting, lack of oxygen and a sprain, including how to do a CPR if ever someone has a pulse but is not breathing. Doing and being a part of the medical group was not something I planned to do but this gave me an open mind that organizing events are not just about focusing on the fun, the games, prizes, sponsors, etc. But safety is extremely important not only in sport events like Binus Cup, but any events. Just like hosting/organizin
g events, being in the medical team makes sure that i'm calm whenever and wherever, which is important, and that i can make my surroundings calm too. I'm very new when it comes to treating patients, i hope nothing bad happens and that the team will all be ready to face everything during the Binus Cup! This is great for me not only during BInus cup, but after as well, I gained a new knowledge o if ever anything bad happens in the future, i can at least have some knowledge and help out.
